"Hanging Family History: Descendent Of Jane Manning James"

I never thought my "Hanging Family History" had anything to do with race. To me it was about the global human family. In 2020 I realized if I had been born black it would look very different because of the lack of known ancestry. This Hanging Family History is of an anonymous descendent who would be a contemporary of mine who also had an ancestor who was an early convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I used black paper because the people identified self-identify as black. This artwork was included in the 2021 Spring Salon at the Springville Museum of Art. It was purchased by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the Museum of History and Art.
